PFI Delegation visits BCC
Buea Community Church received a delegation of three members from Partners For Influence (PFI) to strengthen, encourage and evaluate the churched launched last August.
Pastors Francois Van Niekerk & Hubert Baghana arrived from South Africa on Monday March 16 and departed on Thursday March 19 while Pastor Ernest Custalow arrived from the USA on March 16 and departed on Sunday March 22.
Pastor Francois ministered during our mid-week service on Wednesday March 18 on the topic “unity in the Body” while Pastor Ernest taught during the Sunday service March 22 on “root course of bitterness.” It is worth noting that one student from UB attended the service on Sunday.
A series of leadership seminars held with the general leadership of the church and he shared on issues such as:
- Personality profiles.
- The job description of a pastor.
- What the body of Christ is all about.
- Principles of growth in ministry.
- Leadership principles, etc.
A Seminar also held in UB with lecturers and students from the Departments of History, Political Science and Sociology and Anthropology. 10 lecturers and more than 50 students were in attendance. Pastor Ernest had the opportunity to shake hands with the Vice Chancellor very briefly. A small reception followed after the seminar and during this time Ernest talked and answered questions from students and lecturers.

BCC Celebrates 4 years of Ministry in Buea
The anniversary celebrations of the Buea Community Church took place from the 24-30 November, 2008 under the theme: “Higher Ground.” It was tremendous what God did in the lives His people and to the great numbers who attended each day. We saw people during this programme willingly indicating their decisions to follow Jesus. It was excellent to hear people confessing that nothing is sweeter than the presence of God. Many desired that the programme would have continued or be extended much longer. According to one of the participants, l quote, “as for me, l followed the theme of the programme, prayed very hard and I cannot deny the fact that I am experiencing higher grounds in my life.”
BCC Baptizes 9
Last Sunday November 30, 2008, BCC baptized 9 candidates who have demonstrated their seriousness in their personal walk with God, some of who went through a 2month Discipleship School in October and November. At the baptizing site, it was wonderful to preach a crowd of onlookers who had turned out to either fetch water or to do their laundry. Praise God, one person indicated her willingness to accept Jesus into her life for the very first time. The next baptizing comes up Sunday December 28, at 7am.

Fellowship with Crusade Converts
After our last out door Crusade at the Bonduma Village hall from Oct. 30– Nov. 2, 2008 where we registered at least 125decision cards, we saw so many of them coming to church. As part of the follow up strategies, we organized a thanksgiving fellowship meal on Sunday November 22 at 3pm where we had closed to 60participants from the village being present. At the end of the occasion, 3persons recommitted themselves to Jesus.

BCC baptises two
After having taken the discipleship lessons for more than a month now, these candidates took the lesson on Baptism and they understood what it meant to be buried with Christ in baptism and they willingly demonstrated the need to publicly confess that they are now children of God. It was a wonderful Sunday morning at the site of baptism where so many inhabitants came to wash their clothes and others to fetch water for drinking and cooking. After a short evangelistic word, one young man openly indicated his need to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior. View photos of the what took place on that day via this link.
